Bright Smile Dental, 123 Main Street, Your Town

Gentle dental care for your whole family

We're a small local practice doing the everyday dentistry most people actually need: check-ups and cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, whitening and looking after children's teeth. No upselling, no lectures about flossing, and no rushing you out of the chair.

If it's been a few years since your last appointment, that's genuinely fine. Plenty of our patients start that way.

What we treat, from check-ups to whitening

Everyday general dentistry for adults and children in Your Town. If you need something we don't do here, we'll tell you plainly and point you to someone who does.

Exams and check-ups

A full look at teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, plus an oral cancer check. You get a clear summary of what's healthy, what's being watched, and what needs doing.

Hygiene and cleanings

Scale and polish with our hygienist to clear plaque and tartar the toothbrush can't reach. Useful if your gums bleed when you brush or you've had staining from tea, coffee or smoking.

Fillings

Tooth-coloured fillings for decay, chips and worn edges. Numbing first, always, and we check you're comfortable before anything starts.

Crowns

For teeth that are cracked, heavily filled or broken down after root treatment. We take impressions, fit a temporary, and get the shade matched to the teeth either side.

Extractions

Only when a tooth genuinely can't be saved. We explain why, talk through what replaces it if anything, and give you aftercare instructions in writing.

Teeth whitening

Supervised whitening with custom trays you take home, after a check that your teeth and gums are healthy enough for it. We'll be honest about the shade change you can realistically expect.

Children's dentistry

Short, friendly appointments from the first tooth. Early visits are mostly counting teeth and a ride in the chair, which is exactly the point.

Toothache and emergencies

Pain, swelling, a lost filling or a broken front tooth. Call as early in the day as you can and we'll try to get you seen the same day.

Nervous about the dentist? You're in the right place

Dental anxiety is the most common reason people put off booking, sometimes for years. We'd much rather you told us than stayed away. Say it when you ring, or write it on the form, and we'll plan the appointment around it.

Nobody here will make you feel guilty about the state of your teeth or how long it's been.

Book a no-treatment first visit
  • 01

A talk first, in the chair upright

Your first appointment can be a conversation and nothing more. No instruments, no reclining the chair, just working out what you want to happen next.

  • 02

    Everything explained before it happens

We tell you what we're about to do, what it will feel like, and roughly how long it will take. No surprises while you can't speak.

  • 03

A stop signal that actually works

Raise your hand and we stop. Every time, not just the first time. That single agreement is what most anxious patients tell us makes the difference.

  • 04

    Broken into shorter visits

If a long appointment feels like too much, we split treatment across several short ones and go at the pace you can manage.

New patients

What happens at your first appointment

Allow about 40 minutes for a new patient visit. Here's the whole thing, start to finish, so there's nothing to guess at.

  1. 1

    Paperwork and medical history

A short form at reception covering your medical history, medication, allergies and any insurance details. Arrive five minutes early and it's done before you sit down. If you'd rather fill it in at home, ask and we'll send it over.

  2. 2

A chat about why you're here

Before anything else, the dentist asks what's brought you in, what's bothering you, what you've had done in the past and how you feel about dental treatment. Tell us if you're nervous here.

  3. 3

    The examination

Teeth, existing fillings, gums, bite, jaw joints and the soft tissues of your mouth, including a check for anything unusual. We call out what we see as we go so you're not lying there wondering.

  4. 4

    X-rays, only if they're needed

Small images to see between teeth and below the gum line where the eye can't reach. We only take them if there's a reason, we explain that reason first, and we show you the images on screen afterwards.

  5. 5

Your treatment plan and what it costs

You leave with a written plan: what needs doing, what's urgent versus what can wait, the order we'd suggest, and the cost of each item. Nothing gets booked until you've had a chance to think about it.

  6. 6

    Booking the next step

That might be a hygiene appointment, a filling, or simply a check-up in six or twelve months. Reception will also tell you when to expect a reminder.

Straightforward pricing and the plans we accept

We won't quote figures on this page that we can't stand behind, because prices change and every mouth is different. What we will promise is that you always know the cost before treatment starts.

  • A written plan with prices, item by item

After your exam you get the cost of each treatment listed separately, so you can see what's urgent, what's optional and what it all adds up to.

  • No treatment starts without your say-so

If we find something extra mid-appointment, we stop and talk about it rather than adding it to the bill.

  • Costs can be spread over several visits

Bigger plans can be sequenced so you pay as each stage is done, rather than all at once. Ask reception what's possible.

Meet the dentist and the team looking after you

We're a small practice, which means you see familiar faces. The same dentist follows your treatment through rather than passing you around, and reception will know your name by the second visit.

Your dentist

A registered general dentist handling exams, fillings, crowns, extractions and whitening, and the person who writes your treatment plan. They'll talk you through the reasoning behind every recommendation, not just the price of it.

Our hygienist

Cleanings, gum health and the practical side of looking after your teeth between visits. Expect useful, specific advice about the spots you're actually missing rather than a generic brushing lecture.

Reception and nursing team

They book your appointments, chase your insurance queries, send reminders and sit in on treatment. If you need a quiet time of day or a longer slot, tell them and they'll arrange it.

Want to know who you're booked in with before you come? Ring 123 123 123 and we'll tell you, along with their registration details.

What local patients say about us

We'd rather send you to the reviews than pick out the nicest lines ourselves. Our Google profile has feedback from patients around Your Town, written by them and not edited by us, including the ordinary check-up visits as well as the emergencies.

If we've looked after you recently, a few words there genuinely helps other people decide whether to book.

Common questions before booking

How often should I come in for a check-up?

For most adults with healthy teeth and gums, every six to twelve months is right. If you've had gum problems, a lot of decay or you smoke, we may suggest shorter gaps for a while. The dentist tells you your interval at the end of your exam and we send a reminder when it's due.

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most major dental insurance plans, but cover differs enormously between policies. Call 123 123 123 with your insurer and plan level before you book and we'll tell you what's likely to be covered and what you'd pay yourself. Bring your policy details to the first appointment either way.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Ring us as early in the day as you can. We hold slots back for toothache, swelling, lost fillings and broken teeth, and we'll do our best to see you the same day. If we can't, we'll tell you straight away and give advice on managing it until you're seen.

Is there parking at the practice?

We're at 123 Main Street in the middle of town, so most patients park in the nearby street parking or a town centre car park a short walk away. If you have mobility difficulties, mention it when you book and reception will explain the closest option and where to be dropped off.

Do you see children?

Yes, from the first tooth. Early appointments are short and mostly about getting comfortable: sitting in the chair, counting teeth, a quick look. We're happy to see a child at the same time as a parent's appointment so it's one trip.

It's been years since I saw a dentist. Will you judge me?

No. It's one of the most common things people tell us on the phone, and we hear it every week. Come in, let us have a look, and we'll build a plan from where things are now rather than talking about what should have happened before.
